Kincluny Ecovillage Ecological Impact Assessment

Client: CHAP Homes

nes undertook an ecological impact assessment (EcIA) of the proposed ecovillage at Park Quarry on Deeside, Aberdeenshire (currently an active quarry).

The development proposed to minimise the carbon footprint as far as possible through a combination of state of the art building techniques, use of renewable energy sources, reduction and recycling of waste and the encouragement of home working through provision of home offices.

As part of the EcIA we carried out protected species, breeding bird and vegetation surveys. paying particular attention to the ecology of the adjacent River Dee SAC, designated for its otters, freshwater pearl mussel and Atlantic salmon.
